Scene in Winston-Salem announces the first-ever downtown Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Teams of two will solve clues that will lead them to various downtown destinations, ultimately to the finish line and an awards ceremony.  The goal of the event is to educate participants about Winston-Salem's history, community, and local arts scene while interacting with others in the area. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Meade Willis Fund, for the purpose of assisting restaurants, clubs and galleries wishing to operate downtown. We are also collecting two cans of food from each participant to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank.  The event will take place rain or shine.  Registration for the Scavenger Hunt is open at www.sceneinwinston-salem.com.

Susan Morris, event coordinator for Scene in Winston-Salem, notes “The hunt will not only entertain participants, but will promote the city as a center of culture for residents and visitors.
